The following post is sponsored by Turbana Corporation.
It’s so exciting when a major corporation creates a contest that really and truly aligns with their vision of health + wellness, and also gives the public a chance to make a difference. Turbana Corporation is a leading importer of tropical produce in North America, including bananas, plantains, pineapples, and other yummy tropical fruits. (all things that I LOVE!) What I really admire about Turbana is that they invest in communities across the US, helping them build sustainable and healthy practices. Read on to hear about a campaign that could help your community.
Their current campaign is empowering people to live consciously and responsibly, and make a difference in their own communities, much like I aim to do here on my blog. On July 1st Turbana launched an interactive Facebook contest that allows the public to nominate and vote for community causes that they believe deserve support. The community has complete control over what causes are nominated, what cause wins, and what kind of program is crafted with Turbana and the cause.
*And may I have a drumroll please?!?!* The organization that receives the most votes by the end of the month-long voting period will be awarded a $25,000 sponsorship from Turbana, and the corporation will partner with them to instate new community programs.
The contest is running from July 1st to August 11th and the only caveat is that the causes causes should align with the values of Turbana’s “Growing Smiles, Sharing Goodness” movement, which encourages people to eat smart, be active and get involved in their community.
After attending FitBloggin last week, I learned of so many friends who are doing phenomenal things for their communities all across the United States. I can imagine that the “A Healthy U” Conference would also fall under this category too! – I may just have to reach out to my team and discuss entering!
If you are on the hunt for more information, please check out the Facebook page and this YouTube video.
Can you think of anyone who is doing something amazing in their community related to health + wellness that should enter?
What health + wellness programming do you wish would come to your community?
