Traveling During the Holidays

Lipault Paris Suitcases

At 12pm today – my 9-5 office officially closed. I’ve never been the person to host Christmas, so this means I’m on the road for the next few days.

This year, Kevin and I will be spending a few days in Connecticut with my family, and then circling back to New York to have a late Christmas dinner with his family… and then we settle back in New Jersey by Monday. But this is the type of travel that I love – and I do note that I may love it because I’m driving and don’t have to spend hours in the airport.

Most of the time I’m lucky enough to not even hit any traffic too! But, I digress…

The holidays are such a special time as an adult for me. It’s the time where I feel like I am able to unwind, destress, and spend time with those that I love. I haven’t even picked up holiday gifts as yet! I know – I’m absolutely the worst! This year, I’m planning on getting a bunch of gift cards though – everyone can buy exactly what they want.

When it comes to packing – Kevin and I actually throw everything into one suitcase to make things easy. Lots of comfy clothes to hang around the house in, and maybe one or two “nice” outfits for dinner with our families. Lipault Paris gifted me the 28″ spinner in navy blue and it’s been perfect for both of us to put everything into. I love that it has a little bit of flair too. The fabric is flexible, and the entire suitcase folds down so it’s easy to store in the closet or under the bed when we aren’t using it.

My parents are a bit on the strict side – so we get a hotel about 30 minutes away…yea, no unmarried couples sleeping in my parents house has been a rule since… forever. But, it’s also nice to stay away from home and not have to be in our usual day-to-day grind at home.

My family does a Christmas Eve dinner at a local seafood restaurant and then an early afternoon dinner on Christmas Day. Kevin’s family does a late night dinner on Christmas day – so it works out perfectly so we can see both families on the actual holiday.

But no matter where you’re headed this weekend, or what your plans are, or how chic your luggage is – I wish you a fabulous holiday! Or even just a restful weekend at home.

Once I get back – it’s going to be a rush until the new year – if you’re in my private FB accountability group, I shared a link to receive 30 minutes of FREE coaching so I can help you get your goals in order for the new year. I still have a few slots left as of now – I know this time of year is all about planning for the new year, so I want to see if I can help.

And also, if you’re on the hunt for some inspiration in the new year, I have a 30% off code (MANIFEST) to the Brown Girls Love Power Day in NYC on January 7th, 2017. I attended last year and it was an amazing day filled with inspiration, tips, and motivation to make 2016 a great year – so I’m so excited that Christina, the Founder, is hosting this again for 2017.

Safe travels this weekend to everyone on the road! If you’re looking for stylish luggage, I highly recommend checking out Lipault Paris. The 28″ spinner will be my go to for all of travel this year.

Special thanks to Lipault Paris for gifting me a suitcase for my travels this holiday season.

So your family definitely sounds similar to mine. Same exact rules … and babe and I also pack our things together when traveling … unless of course I decide to over pack lol

I love this suitcase. I was just telling him yesterday that we need new sets. Thanks for sharing! 🙂

    • Glad to know we aren’t the only ones with the “family rules”. I’m finding that it’s a bit rare these days. People are shocked that we get a hotel.

And yes – chic suitcases are always needed!
