No change, No change

Before the weekend hits – I want to ask you about change. In my high school year book, I used an India Arie quote that said the following.
“The only thing constant in this world is change.”
It’s true, right?
We really don’t have a choice about whether anything in life will change, except ourselves. Everyday when we wake up in the morning, we can chose to do the same sh*t, or we can chose to do epic sh*t.
Sorry for the cursing… I try to stray away from that in my writing, but when you are frustrated with life, sometimes 4 letter words are needed. Just because I write these posts doesn’t mean that I’ve even figured it all out.

Right now I’m really working on finding a way to get excited about fitness again. I’ve been on this crazy journey for a minute now {aka since April 2011 to be exact} – and then I ramped up the intensity last summer…but now I’ve come to a screeching halt. It’s a struggle to get out of bed everyday and hit the gym. If I didn’t feel so guilty about it – I would just enjoy the extra sleep, but I do feel guilty.
I know that I want to do some epic sh*t – so I’ve got to change. However, I struggle with forcing myself to do it, and allowing myself to recoup and relax.
In my weekly women’s group, the facilitator always asks us the same question when we are in a rut – but I haven’t turned it back on myself for this situation.
How long do I want to feel like this?
Literally. So do I want to feel grumpy and sleep in for another week? A day? A month? Whatever it is, there needs to be a deadline. When the deadline comes – I need to recommit to doing epic sh*t.
Yes, it doesn’t happen overnight, but it’s a start. I’ve been checking in about fitness with one of my friends to get the ball rolling, and I scheduled an appointment with a Bikini Competition Coach/Trainer next week – so I’ve put some guidelines in place to get me back on track sooner rather than later.

So what is it that you want to change in your life right now? And more importantly, how long do you want to continue to feel like this?

Feel free to schedule a complimentary one on one session with me so we can chat about the area of your life where you need to get the ball rolling.

Cheers to the weekend – and a successful upcoming week.
