Mindfulness Moments: Conjuring

A week or so ago, I saw this post on Jess Lively’s blog about conjuring your desires. Basically, it’s the belief that when you intentionally ask for what you want, the universe/God/the higher being that you believe in, will help you obtain them. When I first read her post, I thought of my 27 before 27 list…that I haven’t even looked at in months. But, this conjuring list sounded much more specific and intentional. Interestingly enough, I feel like this is a means of manifesting your desires.

Coincidentally, the sermon in church yesterday spoke about how you should not be affected by dream killers. In short, we all have dreams, and those dreams CAN and WILL come true. However, along the way we will run into dream killers who want nothing more than to knock you off your track. That’s why you must have faith and believe that your dreams will come true and not focus on naysayers. In writing this post, dreams seem to be the unconscious form or conjuring. Make sense?

On November 1st, I felt like I woke up with this aha moment that we only have 2 months left until the new year begins. I am really into setting new years resolutions and goals, so I thought that this would be a good time to reassess my resolutions, goals, and my 27 before 27 list. In creating a manageable conjuring list, I hope to conjure some motivation and renewed focus towards my goals.

So here it goes…

1. I want to work to clear up my skin, which I am pretty sure is stress related. This past year has been NUTS! And it is all coming out through my skin and my health. I want to find better coping methods so that my stress does not manifest itself physically. I already found amazing products, but I know less stress will help me get that glow back.

2. I want to develop, perfect, and grow my blog! I have sooooo many things that I would like to do here, but I am just making lists and not working on the list. So, Ima get my life! I have some number goals that I would like to reach via social media,  list of brands I want to approach, other bloggers that I want to collaborate with…. you know, the works.

3. Fitness. Fitness. Fitness. I want to develop a steady regime for myself. Period. A solid regime will help me be more successful in reaching my goals. I would love to say that I will reach my goal by the new year, but I don’t want the pressure. I want progress. (Sidebar: I was going through my files and found a medical record from 2005 and I weighed the exact amount what I do today! But my body looks and feels so different now. I’ll stop myself right there because I know that could easily turn into a whole blog series. )

4. More happiness. More love. More confidence.

What would you like to accomplish before the clock strikes 12 on January 1st, 2014?

My main goal was to find a new career and I did that, so I am happy! One thing that I DO want to do is get back on track with my fitness as well and get back on a downward trend with the weight loss. I have been slacking lately, and I need to do better, so I’m vowing myself for the next two months, its go hard or go harder! 🙂

Great list! I’d like to be down 25 more pounds (I have quarterly goals, final goal is July 2nd, 2014) for my second quarter goal. I’d like to continue to practice yoga daily, and really improve the poses that need work. I’d like to take five minutes off of my 5k treadmill running time. I’d like to grow my blog. It needs work! On a more personal level, I’d like to continue removing the toxic, negative people from my life.

    • I love all the goals, but especially the personal one. I am doing the same and I feel that removing those people can be a huge relief. And probably help you reach the rest of 5he goals. Crazy, but true. 🙂

  4. Oh my gosh this is such a great post! I feel like this time of year things can really start to derail in terms of goals. For example, you wanted to lose weight but now the holidays are here and so you indulge or you wanted to save money but now the holidays are here and you need to buy gifts. I like the refocus on your goals now so when the New Year strikes, you are ready to progress not backtrack. Great post!

    • Thank you! I felt the same…this time of year is so difficult to get things done. Work deadlines, gatherings, holidays…but hopefully this conjuring list will stay on my mind to help me stay motivated. 🙂
