2016 Skin Routine

It’s February 1, the first day of the 29 Day Skin Challenge – so I’m going to share my updated skin care routine. I’m literally obsessed with products that fade scarring, brighten, and tone the skin – so most of my products have one of those properties. I also have a few thrown in just for extra moisture since my skin can get really dry in the winter time.

I try to find cleansers that are gentle, but still get the job done. Most says I stick to the Creamy Face Cleanser from Frank, but on days when my skin feels like it needs a more cleaning, I bring out some black soap. Black soap can be a bit too drying for my skin if I use it every single day, so I try to only use it 2-3 times per week.

I normally omit this step, but I need to be better about it. I headed back to LUSH this weekend and picked up my favorite toner, which is known to help fight acne as well.

This is the miracle worker right here. This Face Scrub works wonders on acne scars when used on a regular basis. I try to use this every other day in the shower. The difference between this scrub and another popular one like St. Ives Apricot Scrub (an oldie but a goodie), is that you have to let it sit on your face to allow the ingredients to penetrate. So you rub it on to exfoliate, let it sit, and then wash it off.

I’m addicted to finding the perfect moisturizer so I have a few. Bar Beleza is an all natural bar made with butters and natural oils – when my skin is dry, this is the go to. The Rapid Tone Repair has Retin-A, so I use this in the evenings. Suncreen – well, I’m not as good as I should be about wearing it every day BUT I’m trying. And last but not least is the True Lipids Lotion that I actually picked up at a beauty event and I love it. Oddly enough, I feel like this one forces my black heads to push out on their own. Kinda gross, but I’m grateful.

Facial Masks are one of the ways I treat myself and my skin. I love grabbing a hot cup of tea and a good book on the weekends while I let my face masks soak into my skin. Coffee is becoming such a hot ingredient in beauty so I tried this new mask at LUSH and the Earth Kiss masks are my go-tos. I also love that they come in packets so they are super portable.

Great products was only the last step in the 29 Day Skin Challenge, so I’ll also be working on drinking water, making sure I have my supergreens everyday, and getting more sleep. My daily schedule is about to drastically change at the end of the month since i just got a new job – so this may be a bit harder than normal BUT I’m excited. For clearer skin AND the new job.
