5 Things to Do After #Blogalicious8

5 Things to do after #Blogalicious8

The conference is over, and your mind is everywhere. I woke up today excited to get to work, but also overwhelmed. So, I created this list of 5 things to do after #Blogalicious8 to get myself back on track.

1. CREATE A GOAL.

One of the defining moments of Blogalicious 2015 was when Stacy Ferguson, the Co-Founder, talked about how you don’t want to return to a conference year after year and still be in the same place. If you’re attending conferences every year and you’re not growing, it’s a problem.

So let’s fast forward to Blogalicious 2017 – if you plan to attend, which you should, what would you want to say you accomplished in the next year? Write it down, and create an action plan for yourself.

2. ORGANIZE YOUR NOTES.

All of those great sessions. All of the handouts. All of the inspiration, motivation, and advice is probably in a notebook or computer document that may not be organized. I get it, you were running from session to session; but if you wait too long to go through everything, you won’t understand your own notes when you get around to it.

3. FOLLOW UP WITH THE BLOGGERS YOU MET.

Wasn’t there a session on netwerking? (and yes, I spelled it correctly) Remember what Kristen R. Harris said about follow up; if it’s not timely, it’s basically worthless. After a conference where you can meet and greet hundreds of people, it’s really hard to stand out unless you had time for a meaningful connection. And even then, some details can get lost over time. Follow up with a personalized message via email or social media within 24-48 hours.

4. FOLLOW UP WITH THE BRANDS/SPONSORS.

Follow up with the brands… ideally using the media kit format that Domain.ME helped everyone develop. Craft your pitch, attach your media kit, and send it off as soon as possible. Also remember that brands are already planning for collaborations well into 2017, so keep that in mind when pitching. You may not get a brand new collaboration with net-30day payment terms by the end of November 2016, but you’re working to develop real relationships that are mutually beneficial.

5. REGISTER FOR BLOGALICIOUS 2017 IN MIAMI.

Did you really think I wasn’t going to mention this part? The Blogalicious team is offering an INSANE discount on next year’s conference but it expires on Monday… so hurry up. Also, if any speakers are offering programs to support your growth, be sure to look into them asap. Many people were gracious enough to offer steep discounts to attendees – but they are most likely time sensitive too.

BONUS TIP:

Send a little extra social media love to Be Blogalicious and all of the brands that sponsored the event. (I know I had to shout out Dove last night on Instagram because my mini-makeover was flawless!) The sponsors come to interact with the attendees, so why end all the excitement when the conference ends? And why end the Blogalicious praise right when the conference ends when we all know it’s still on your mind? Keep it going! It will only help support Be Blogalicious even more for years to come.

Hope to see you at #Blogalicious9 next year in Miami!
